The short version

Tab keeps your financial records on your device. We do not collect them, we cannot see them, and there is no account to sign into.

1. What we collect

Nothing. Tab has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no user accounts. We do not operate a server that receives your data.

2. What you enter, and where it lives

Transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, people, shared expenses, trips, loans, subscriptions, notes and receipt photographs are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database. They are included in your device's own iPhone backup if you have one enabled, which is under your control, not ours.

Tab also makes its own backup file each day and keeps the last ten. Copies are stored on your iPhone and, if iCloud Drive is turned on, in Tab's folder in your own iCloud Drive. That copy is held by Apple under your Apple Account. We have no access to it.

3. Camera and photos

If you scan a receipt, the photograph is read on your device using Apple's Vision framework. The image never leaves your phone. It is attached to the transaction you created, and deleting the transaction deletes it.

4. Face ID and Touch ID

If you enable the app lock, authentication is performed by iOS. Tab receives only a yes or no. We never see biometric data.

5. Network connections

Tab makes one kind of network request: fetching currency exchange rates from open.er-api.com. That request contains no personal information — it asks for public rates and nothing else. If it fails, the app uses built-in rates and carries on.

6. Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether a subscription is currently active.

7. What you share yourself

Exported PDFs and backup files are created on your device and go wherever you choose to send them. Once you share a file, its contents are outside our control and this policy no longer governs it. Payment details you add for QR codes are stored on your device and appear only on statements you export yourself.

8. Children

Tab is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.

9. Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device. Backups in your iCloud Drive stay until you delete them, which you can do in iOS Settings under your Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Storage. If you want a copy of your records first, export a backup before deleting.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
